Visual artist, cultural storyteller, creative educator and author
Muegbeyogho Nosakhare Courage, professionally known as N'Courage, is a Nigerian visual artist, photographer, cultural storyteller and creative educator whose work explores African identity, cultural memory, inheritance and the evolving role of visual culture in contemporary society.
Based in Benin City, his practice draws on Edo heritage and lived experience to create emotionally driven portraits and visual narratives about power, belonging, history and the relationship between past and present. Through projects including Inheritance, The Weight of the Crown and Between, he documents and reinterprets cultural narratives and contributes to wider conversations about African identity and representation.
Since beginning his professional photography journey in 2017, he has built a multidisciplinary career across visual art, photography, creative education, publishing and international creative collaboration. His work has been exhibited, published and recognised through professional engagements in different markets.
He is the founder of Ncourage Photo-Creative Studio and Academy, through which he has trained and mentored emerging photographers and creatives in visual storytelling, technical practice and sustainable creative entrepreneurship. He is the author of The Portrait Storyteller and The Money Making Formula: The Equations Behind Sustainable Wealth.
As founder of Visual Shift Africa, he is developing a continental platform that expands access to creative education, technology, mentorship, industry networks and professional opportunities for African visual creatives, connecting artists, photographers, cultural institutions, technology companies and strategic partners through workshops, portfolio reviews, exhibitions, artist talks, creative grants and resource sharing.
His vision is a more connected and sustainable African creative ecosystem in which talent is supported by access, opportunity and investment, and African stories are shaped and shared by the people who live them.
